Such a Clever Deception Release and GIVEAWAY!!

It's out it's out it's out it's out!!!!!

Talon. Sigh. He's one of my favorite characters out of my own head, lol. I love how complicated he is, how layered he is, how strong and conflicted and it was truly a pleasure to write his story. My editor pushed and prodded me, and this story is so much better because of it.

For a dip into the world of my Stolen Tears series, nab your free copy ASAP!

*Update* I'm still waiting for Amazon to price match, so it's 99 cents there--hopefully they'll lower it to free soon. But it's free on and Kobo!

And don't forget to enter the giveaway. Talon wears a pair of leather, fingerless gloves all through the first book in the series, and in this prequel readers find out WHY. So my lovely and amazing mom made some adorable fingerless gloves that will be perfect for a cold day.

Aren't they cute? I almost don't want to give them away, lol. And you'll also get a signed paperback of my YA horror PHOBIC! (US only)

Huge thanks to all my friends--writerly and otherwise--and family who've supported me. You guys don't know how much it means to me. Thank you for everything. <3

An Interview With an Awesome Author!

Hello! I'm so excited to have the lovely and amazing Crystal Collier on the blog today! Crystal is super friendly, has a mean taste for cheese, and is so great to reach out to other writers. Here is more about her before we get started on the interview!

Author Bio: Crystal Collier is a young adult author who pens dark fantasy, historical, and romance hybrids. She can be found practicing her brother-induced ninja skills while teaching children or madly typing about fantastic and impossible creatures. She has lived from coast to coast and now calls Florida home with her creative husband, four littles, and “friend” (a.k.a. the zombie locked in her closet). Secretly, she dreams of world domination and a bottomless supply of cheese. You can find her on her blog and Facebook, or follow her on Twitter.

Here are her lovely books!

MOONLESS: Jane Eyre meets Supernatural. Alexia must choose safety and an arranged marriage, or true love and being hunted by the Soulless every moonless night.
SOULLESS: The Soulless are coming. Alexia is being hunted by the Soulless—red-eyed wraiths that feed on the living. Only the man she loves stands in their way, until he is robbed of the power to protect her. Alexia must master her own gifts or doom not only herself, but all of the Passionate.

And now for the interview!

1. How long have you been writing?

*blinks blankly*

Is there another way to live? My first serious story hit paper while in second grade. For fun. Not an assignment. Before that I was telling tales through pictures. The goal was to be published by the age of 16, and if you count local literary magazines, I succeeded.

That is incredible! Good for you!

2. What made you want to write?

There’s never been a time when I didn’t have stories to tell (ask poor grandpa who got his ears talked off on a 3 hour trip by a 3 year old Crystal.) Through the years I’ve used cartooning, words, and music to fulfill that need.

It makes a difference when you start young, definitely. And I'm sure your grandpa loved the stories! ;)

3. What is your favorite book EVER?

Definitely the Book of Mormon, but if you’re looking at non-religious text, it’s Les Miserables.

Ah, yes, big fan of the BOM here too. Les Miserables is one I've never read all the way through. Sounds like I need to!

4. Your love for cheese is well-known and fun! How did that begin, has it always been a favorite for you?

I wouldn’t be alive without cheese. Coming from a house overrun with 8 kids (one of them special needs), I would have STARVED if not for the simple solution of melting cheddar on bread. It’s life sustaining. Part of that need for cheese in the house came from my special needs brother. It was his FAVORITE food. He was the most optimistic, friendly, amazing person I’ve known, and I can’t think of cheese without remembering him—and then hopefully trying to be just as outgoing, loving, and forgiving. It’s life sustaining.

Oh, that definitely makes it all the more special. Cheese definitely goes with practically anything!

5. Quick--aliens are invading and you only have 23 seconds to grab your two favorite things (Your family is already escaping with you, btw). What are they?
My giant block of cheddar and teleportation device. I mean, seriously, who would leave their teleportation device behind? ;)

For realsies!

Lol, thanks for the fun interview, Crystal! And if you haven't read her books yet, go check them out! Jane Eyre is one of my favorites, so I love this comparison of it with Supernatural!
