Got a shelved ms?
We'll do some spring cleaning on those first manuscripts, our first babies, those bodacious attempts at writing that we learned so much with and worked so hard on that never really seemed to *pan out*. Those characters we fell in love with, the story we poured our souls into--I know I still think of mine!!
Both Theresa and I believe nothing we do is ever wasted. Even if nothing happened with those first/early projects, we've all learned essential things to improve, to take this writing thing to the next level. So pull Ol' Shelvy off the shelf, and get ready to let us know what it was all about!
May 3rd: Post a 1-2 sentence pitch as to what Ol' Shelvy was about. (Great way to practice pitches!! And it will also give everyone some grounding for what your story is!!)
May 5th: Post your favorite excerpt from Ol' Shelvy. 300-350 word limit. ;)
May 7th: Post what you learned from this WIP. We become stronger, more rounded writers with each project we take on, and we want to know what you learned from writing Ol' Shelvy!!
A bloghop wouldn't be complete without PRIZES!!!!!
Day 1 Prize
From me: A copy of Ditched by Robin Mellom. Such a fab book!

From Theresa: A copy of Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson. Awesome!
Day 2 Prize
From both Theresa and me: A query critique!!! (Who doesn't need one of those?)
Day 3 Prize
From both Theresa and me: A FULL MS critique!! Of your choosing. It does NOT have to be Ol' Shelvy (unless you want it to be, lol). And that goes for the query as well.
We'd LOVE for you to follow us. You don't have to in order to participate, but we'll follow you back, mwa ha ha *taps fingers together*. Sign up below and spread the word. Can't wait for the fun to start!!

Jack, how did I miss that! Lol, thanks for tagging me!! :-p
This sounds like a fun idea! I think I'm going with my only 19th century historical book I still have access to after all these years, one of my extremely rare few manuscripts I ever wrote in first person (since it's in journal format). Wish I could open the disk where I transcribed it and did a little tweaking a couple of years after handwriting it, but the handwritten original will have to do!
Ooo, sounds awesome. Can't wait to see what you've got!!
Can't wait to get started. :)
