My Other Passion

I've been playing the clarinet since I was 13 years old...maybe it's 12, not sure. Anyway, I LOVE it. And I'm excited because our community orchestra started up again Tuesday night. It's a little like playing in a high school orchestra again, but I'm not complaining because I'm just glad I get to play at all!

Here's me.

When I asked my stand partner to take my picture she looked at me like I was Psy-cho! Lol so I told her it was for my blog. She's cool, she went to Interlochen Arts Academy with Josh Groban (not the only reason why I like her, but it's definitely a perk).

How fun! I play the piano, but not well. If I wasn't working so hard on my novel I would find some time to squeeze in practice. But I guess if I had to choose I would pick writing every time. So fun!

How fun! Love that you got your pic for the blog! Gotta have fun stuff like that. And I'm totally diggin' that your partner went to school with Josh Groban! *Silly girl screams* I loooove him! I wish I was musically inclined, but alas... I am not. :(

Hi, Cortney,

Dropping in to say hi from the Campaign. I am late getting to everyone. I've been on vacation the past few weeks.

Congrats on the awards and the clarinet. It's a wonderful instrument.

J.A., I know, I pick writing every time too (which is why I don't play as much anymore)!

Abby, my stand partner and I were just talking about how my hubby/her boyfriend aren't musically inclined either, and I mentioned how mine has acclimatized to Josh Groban since we've been married, and she was like, "Yeah, I used to eat breakfast with him." Gah! So now I feel cool because I know somebody who knows somebody cool ;).

And Michael, nice to meet you! Thanks for stopping by.

I played the clarinet in elementary school but wasn't any good and stopped by eighth grade. Just dropping in to say "Hi" from the campaign.

Hi Cortney! How wonderful that you play the clarinet! I wish I played an instrument. My daughter plays the violin and I love to hear her play! I LOVE the premise behind your book TEARS! So unique! I HAVE to read it!

I'm a fellow campaigner - I'm not in your groups, but I wanted the fun of getting to know more writers. It's so great to meet you! I love the feel of your blog - you sound so wonderful and friendly!

Hey, Cortney! What a great opportunity! Music is such a wonderful outlet. I played clarinet up until I went to college, but I've not picked it since then. But you're right, it is an enjoyable thing to do.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Seriously. I've played the flute since I was 13 and I was in the provincial youth orchestra for a year before I left school. Words can't explain what it feels like to be part of a group of people all contributing a tiny piece of sound to make one glorious piece of music. I miss it SOOOO much! Enjoy :-)
